The "Kiss of Death" for the McCain campaign?
Is the backing by former president Bush and the proposed "touring" with the current President Bush actually the "Kiss of Death" for Mc Cain?
A recent CNN story cites former President Bush as backing McCain. We can understand this because both men have something in common. But… a recent msnbc story states that McCain's campaign advisors are planning to deploy President Bush in Republican campaign fundraisers yet don't want the President appearing too often by McCain's side.
The reasoning for this strategy is supposedly to bolster the conservative vote and yet not to scare off the Independent and moderate Democratic vote.
In a way it seems as if McCain's campaign managers are well aware that our current President has a very poor public approval rating these days and has had for some time now. His managers also realize that having Bush being seen too often at the side of a Presidential hopeful other than to rally a few die hards would most likely be a kiss of death for the Senators campaign.
Could it be that perhaps with this strategy being made public and the backing of both Bush's, mixed with the common thought process of "guilty by association" that McCain has already received that kiss?
